Packing Team Member

Primary Responsibility: Clean, inspect, plan, pack, protect, and record products for shipment.

Secondary Responsibilities: Assist with packing products for other shipping areas.

Requirements:

• Good attendance; hours vary based on shipping schedules and customer demand.
• Ability to lift, stack, and pack items up to 60 pounds (team lift for heavier items),
• Safe and effective forklift operation.
• Ability to determine packing methods for standard and non-standard items.
• Efficient packing skills.
• Capable of banding and wrapping products for transport.
• Basic reading and writing skills for completing pack list paperwork.

Job Tasks:

• Follow supervisor’s priority list for daily packing.
• Collaborate with the material coordinator to define a preliminary pack plan.
• Review and plan the pack job before starting.
• Pack products efficiently to maximize truck space.
• Clean all pieces of dust and slight marks and notify the supervisor of any excessive issues.
• Ensure quality by measuring and inspecting parts for defects.
• Pack products to basic standards, using minimal disposable materials to ensure product arrives intact for install.
• Dry fit components and take photos and document according to process for verification.
• Pack complete skids, check pack lists, and communicate any shortages or rejects.
• Label and wrap skids vertically.
• Take final packed photos and complete pack lists with appropriate signatures.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
