With support from dedicated volunteer mentors,
Creative Lab
supports high school students in NYC turn their creativity into a career path.From November to June, pairs meet for 1 : 1 sessions and group workshops. Volunteer mentors provided support with resume and cover letter writing, internship applications, completion of a career focused research project, exploration of creative interests, and creative career preparedness.Mentor ResponsibilitiesNovember 2024–June 2025Commitment to the program and to mentorshipOccasional group workshops over the course of the program (Saturdays - Hybrid format)At least one individual meeting with your mentee per month, for at least one hourMaintain communication with your mentee throughout the program outside of these meetings (email, phone, texting, etc.)Complete online surveysHelp teens explore their career interests, build their professional and visual literacy skills, and grow their networksFree Arts ProvidesDedicated support through periodic check-ins or as neededYouth Development and Program Logistics trainingsFacilitated group workshops and career readiness curriculumAnnual volunteer appreciation events and access to ticketed events and other art opportunities throughout NYC!
