What You'll Do :
Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others at all times in accordance with Vulcan standards while operating equipment in and out of the plant.
Operate Dump Trucks and Equipment. Operate dump truck to haul and transport loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, and / or other materials. May operate equipment within the plant to load materials.
Inspect Equipment. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with Vulcan standards. Complete daily mobile equipment reports and other relevant documentation with accuracy. Must be able to handle and understand Department of Transportation regulations, keeping all documentation up to date.
Maintain Equipment. Maintain equipment performance by checking vehicle fluid levels, and assist in performing other minor maintenance. Report unsafe mechanical conditions to supervisor.
Monitor Processes, Materials, and Surroundings. Monitor your surroundings when operating equipment in and out of the plant and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required to ensure safety.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills You'll Need :
Experience. Previous experience operating dump trucks or heavy construction equipment is preferred.
Ready to Drive. Must possess a commercial driver's license and have a valid DOT physical or the ability to get one.
Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred. Experience with Department of Transportation rules and regulations for transporting heavy equipment is preferred.
Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Hourly Range : the hourly range for this role is between $21.63 - $26.02. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
