Our Wyomissing office is looking to hire a Civil Designer to support our growing team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects within the critical infrastructure industry. Responsibilities : In coordination with engineers and other designers, produce construction drawings and plan sets to company standards using AutoCAD Civil 3D.Identify utilities, develop as-built plans, and set up plans with proposed improvements working with the engineer’s layout.Perform thorough quality control edits (red lines) of construction documents as directed by the design team and utilizing the correct project and / or company standards.Work closely with design leads and engineers in recommending the best use of CAD tools to achieve project objectives, and troubleshoot and resolve issues with CAD tools.Support the project team with a willingness to take on more responsibilities as your experience evolves.
Capabilities and Credentials : 0-3 years of experience performing civil designs utilizing field surveys.The educational requirement of technical training is preferred or equivalent experience.Industry-specific experience in pipeline or utility is preferred; will accept land development.Ability to work on multiple projects under the guidance of project managers, engineers, and lead designers.Ability to read and understand construction documents such as drawings, sketches, and 3D representations to exercise judgment within the defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.Working knowledge in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.Understanding of National CAD Standards is a plus but not required.Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.Ability to retain information, details, and procedures for use on future projects.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.Punctual, dependable, detail-oriented, and thorough.Demonstrate good character traits and rapport with colleagues.Development of the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
