Emergent Method seeks a student intern to support a wide range of communication and general business tasks for our clients and firm.

The ideal candidate is a driven student who is eager to learn, takes pride in developing high-quality deliverables, is organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment, and is a proactive problem solver.

This internship is based in Baton Rouge, with flexible working hours and locations. Internship working hours may be during and after business hours, and a blend of in-office and remote work is possible.

This role requires availability to work 20-30 hours (or more, depending on availability) per week.

• Drafting deliverables such as newsletters, press releases, presentations, and reports
• Creating content for social media and managing content calendar
• Developing meeting agendas, summaries, and action items
• Providing event support through attending meetings, procuring supplies, and taking notes
• Collaborating with team members to support various projects and tasks
• Conducting research, gathering data, and maintaining databases
• Assisting administrative tasks such as running errands, stocking supplies, and providing general office support as needed

Minimum qualifications include :

• Studying toward a bachelor’s degree in mass communication, journalism, public relations, political communications, English, or a related field
• Adept knowledge of AP Style guidelines
• In good academic standing
• True problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a willingness to roll up your sleeves to complete tasks
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) and trends
• Effective time management, organization, and project management skills
• Strong work ethic and keen attention to detail
• Involved in extracurricular activities with demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality regarding internal practices, as well as client names, projects, and other information
