The Video Software Engineering team is looking for Engineering Managers to grow and develop our engineering talent and build inclusive, high-performing teams.

Engineering Managers work closely and collaboratively with teams across Peacock technology to deliver high quality streaming service.

Engineering Managers drive technical initiatives in partnership with senior engineers across multiple teams, including testing, resiliency, and performance.

Day-to-day collaboration with all Playback Services teams (Live / Linear, VOD, Video Player etc.) for Video KPIs on Peacock application

Build dashboards and automation for the NBCUniversal Video Operations team

Manage relationships between multiple internal teams

Own and create a data lake for end to end video delivery

Collaborate with teams building Peacock applications, ensuring optimal integration of the video players

Role Responsibilities

Work closely with Engineering / Product / Project Management and Backend Technology Services teams to build highly scalable / reliable video infrastructure, including various configurations, routing policies / tools, and services to manage Video KPIs

Develop software solutions based on operations; collaborate and confer with colleagues, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, following the software development lifecycle

Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions

Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code

Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming Deliver on product roadmaps, incrementally with a high level of quality

Drive technical initiatives in partnership with senior engineers across teams Constantly search for improvements in process, improve software delivery and operational processes

Grow the team by attracting diverse talent that can push technical boundaries and where individuals recognize that team success is more important than individual success.

Support, coach and develop high performing engineers through regular 1 : 1s, continuous feedback and relationships with others

Mentor individuals to embrace diversity and help building an inclusive and flexible workplace

Continuous improvement; proactively suggest changes to the process to enhance efficiency as the team evolves

Hybrid

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Qualifications : Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

Ability to integrate into a large agile development project and manage rapid development cycles

Hands-on experience with our tech stack; namely Golang, JavaScript, or Angular

Expertise in reviewing code alongside developers and engineers with an eye on ensuring consistent and repeatable solutioning

Experience in a JIRA / Confluence environment

Experience managing headcounts and other organizational leadership tasks

Cross-functional collaboration skills; preferably with multiple technology lines-of-business

2 years of Engineering Management experience, prior software development experience at senior level

Desired Qualifications

Understanding of how a high performing team of engineers operates

Understanding of deadlines, constraints and scope of delivery and experience working with the business partners to ensure the right balance between these are met; setting expectations and handling risks early

Being an analytic problem solver with a strong sense of autonomy, but with an open collaborative approach to getting the job done.

Salary range : $130,000 - $190,000; bonus and long-term incentive eligible
