Description
We're looking for an Environment Artist with at least 5 years experience in game development and one shipped title. You will work closely with the Art and Design teams to help create and model 3D art assets optimally while working closely with the level designer's layout. You will be spearheading the visual look of our environments while working with outsource teams and associate artists to maintain a high visual standard. Our ideal candidate demonstrates both the artistic and technical sides of the art process, values teamwork, is autonomous, shows initiative and wants to work in a well-funded startup environment.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the art director and designers to achieve the visual direction of the gameClosely works with designers in crafting a world that supports the player experienceWorks closely with art and world building directors to identify outsourcing needsCreates and integrates art assets into the game engine, from prototype to final in game assetsMentors associate artists with best practices and personal creative growthCan provide feedback to outsource teams to help support consistent quality and style of the environment artCollaborate with design teams by creating modular kits and prototype assetsQualifications
Advanced knowledge of building modular environments and worlds in Unreal EngineA solid understanding of modeling, texture and material creating pipelinesAdvanced knowledge of lighting, time of day, fog / skyboxes, and post-process effectsUnderstanding of technical limitations with art creation pipelinesAbility to evaluate needs of the art team and handle outsource as neededProven ability to work with art teams to deliver on the games artistic visionExcellent skills in organization, communication and team collaborationKnowledge of content creation software : 3ds Max / Blender, Zbrush, Substance or PhotoshopAt least 5 years of experience as a content artistBenefits
