This position is responsible for designing and developing sprinkler systems to prevent or aid fires. Their responsibilities revolve around performing research and analysis, utilizing feedback from customers and other experts, and coordinating with engineers and technicians.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities : Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create accurate and detailed sprinkler system layouts, hydraulic calculations, and technical drawings.
Coordinate with project managers, installation teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and follow all OSHA standards and laws.
Attend regular development meetings.
Provide updates to purchasing as installation schedule or change orders require modifications to meet installation schedule and deadlines and other requirements.
Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.
Stock list projects for fabrication and approve fabrication quotes.
Make revisions to models as requested.
Keep up to date on all modern advancements in material and software technologies.
Utilize large databases of material property information to best select materials for modeling.
Read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
Analyze and verify all hydraulic calculations to ensure adequate water delivery in the event of a fire condition emergency.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education / Qualification : Minimum 2 years of experience utilizing CAD software.
NICET l in water-based systems layout (preferred).
Minimum 3 years experience in Fire Sprinkler design
Bachelor's or Certifications (preferred).
Minimum 2 years working in a professional environment.
Must have a clean driving record

Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements : Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
