Who You AreWe’re looking for an experienced Media Planner / Buyer.You’re potentially the right fit if you’re organized, efficient, and proactive and are rewarded by being part of a team that consistently provides creative and effective marketing solutions. You should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and be skilled in working with diverse groups of people. You would be a key day-to-day manager of the client’s engagement plans by helping coordinate and direct all media campaigns for this account. You will be responsible for developing presentations, solving problems, analyzing research and anything else required in making the client and agency successful.
What You Would Do : Assist in overall client strategic media planning processes. Help develop planning objectives and strategies that coincide with the client’s marketing directionChallenge direction, or the status quo, and seek alternate perspectives and approaches in developing effective media strategiesLead media buying processes. Craft and issue RFPs, manage vendor correspondence, evaluate proposals, and select partners across mediumsNegotiate rates with media vendors to obtain the most competitive prices. Secure media added valueCollaborate with team members to manage budgets and workflow, track timelines and deliverablesTrack media expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility. Achieve the financial goals of the account by managing costs, revenue, and scope of work in accordance with client contractCraft and present plan recommendations. Manage vendor / client communications and feedback through plan approvals and implementation processesEnter plans / buys into the accounting system and issue vendor insertion orders. Clearly and accurately communicate change orders to media vendorsOversee the execution of media plans, while adhering to established budget and timelineMonitor buys in progress, arrange for make-goods and creditsLead campaign reporting and analyses. Create reports, analyze campaign performance, make optimization recommendations, and effectively present performance results to internal teams and the clientDevelop and traffic tags for digital display, mobile, and social media campaignsConduct research for media POVs on various media-related topics; including new media channels, industry trends, best practices and competitive insightsConduct competitive research, pull competitive reports and assess data to inform media landscape, planning, and decision makingUse and understand syndicated research tools for planning and reporting purposes (MRI / Simmons, comScore, eMarketer, Vivvix / Media Radar, Media Monitors, etal.)Intimately understand the client’s business, industry and competition, and leverage that knowledge to help generate new ideas to strategically grow their businessEffectively interact with clients in a way that positively impacts the agency relationshipHandle multiple tasks easily, consistently meeting or exceeding deadlinesCollaborate with team members throughout the work process to foster, facilitate and consistently deliver multi-channel programs that are on strategy, on time, and on budgetBuild relationships with media vendors and field vendor inquiries
What You NeedBachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, communications, finance or related fieldMinimum of 4-6 years of experience in working in a media or marketing agency environment as a media planner / buyerBroad knowledge and experience in all aspects of media planning and buying, preferably corss-channel.
