Job Role Summary
Reporting to the Chief of Administration with oversight by the Manager of Media Relations and Public Affairs, the Public Relations Strategist assists with the development and coordination of public relations and communications activities for Indianapolis EMS. This position will coordinate Indianapolis EMS’s social media and digital communication outreach efforts for both internal and external audiences.
Essential Job Functions
- Participates in the development and implementation of communication and outreach strategies to enhance the positive image and brand of Indianapolis EMS.
- Coordinates social media messaging on platforms including Facebook, X / Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest, including the creation of campaigns.
- Writes and distributes internal email communications daily and as needed.
- Coordinates event photography and other photography and videography projects as needed.
- Develops solid and effective relationships with other organizations through social media.
- Maintains a robust, accurate, and up-to-date social media database and contacts.
- Conceives, develops, and executes creative ideas for social media posts.
- Responds to social media inquiries within a reasonable amount of time.
- Monitors quality and effectiveness of social media programs, including benchmarking.
- Assists with various special projects related to Public Affairs & Communications activities.
- Serves as a content developer, staff writer, and editor on internal and external publications.
