32.00 - $52.08 per hourSummary : The Rush Center for Excellence (CEA) is a national leader in the development of training programs for professionals who serve older adults. The Senior Instructional Designer will work with a team of clinicians, educators, and other design professionals to develop a state-of-the-art curriculum that meets the needs of this unique and diverse learner population. Primary projects will include developing online content for low-literacy and multilingual populations, as well as health care providers. Consults, trains, and serves as a collaborative resource for the CEA in developing and integrating the use of educational technologies to augment, enhance, and evaluate instructional delivery methods and course-related assessment and evaluation. Collaborates with other staff on various projects. Assists in the development of course materials which are functional, intuitive, and consistent with sound instructional design principles. Investigates, tests, implements, trains or teaches formally and informally, and supports educational and productivity software which assists in the delivery of technological options for course delivery. Determines instructional effectiveness of course materials that are developed. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Required Job Qualifications : Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or other related area7 years of experience in the areas of instructional design techniques, computer-based education and alternative instructional delivery methods required; commitment to keeping abreast of the latest instructional design trends and practicesKnowledge of software supportive of instructional design such as Articulate, Adobe Suite, and similarExperience in online testing and evaluation implementationExperience in teaching adult learnersExperience working with a learning management systemAbility to work effectively as a team member as well as a mentor to less experienced IDsAbility to manage and meet deadlinesAbility to investigate and troubleshoot issues and problems independently and efficientlyDemonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively with both individuals and groupsAbility to work simultaneously on several projects and be able to set prioritiesAbility to work collaboratively with different departments to achieve shared goalsOther duties as assignedPreferred Job Qualifications : Experience in the evaluation of online course designExperience in a University of healthcare settingExperience using Articulate 360 including Storyline and Rise platformsExperience using Adobe SuiteExperience with Project ManagementResponsibilities : Provides direction and mentors junior members of the instructional design teamConsults with department administration on design, development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs, materials, methods, and teaching and assessment techniquesAssists the team in the deployment of asynchronous learning opportunities including online course delivery and requisite training in the Rush Learning Management SystemDevelops a range of instructional materials and other electronic informationDevelops templates for content, storyboards, and eLearning courses consistent with the RUSH brandStays abreast on accessibility and inclusivity standards for instructional designDevelops and conducts workshops on various topics and software applications pertaining to instructional delivery methods, functionality of the course management system, and use of technology to enhance curriculaConsults and partners with members of the Rush Community, outside of the Department, on computer-based instructional delivery methods including, but not limited to, online learning / education and multimediaAssists the department in researching, selecting, and evaluating educational software and web-based applications.Implements accessibility standards, processes, and workflows to ensure learning content is inclusive and accessible to various audience and learning styles / needsEvaluates instructional design software and application needs of the Team and makes recommendations accordingly based on industry standards and performancePerforms regular reviews of existing content and makes improvements as needed / desiredThis is a grant-funded position.Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
