POSITION PURPOSE
We're looking for an enthusiastic and creative Social Media Intern to join our social media team and assist in enhancing our online presence. As our Social Media Intern, this role will create engaging content, assist in managing social media platforms, and helping to build a positive online community. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media strategy, mentorship and professional development opportunities, and insight into organization operations within the financial services industry.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Collaborate on Social Media Strategy : Partner with the UX Design team and Social Media Manager to develop and execute the Credit Union's social media strategy, ensuring it aligns with broader marketing and business goals.
2. Content Creation & Scheduling : Assist in the creation of engaging content for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Schedule posts to maintain a consistent and active online presence.
3. Audience Engagement : Monitor social media channels, interact with followers, and respond to comments / messages to foster positive relationships and enhance community engagement.
4. Social Media Research & Trend Analysis : Conduct research on current social media trends, best practices, and new engagement opportunities to ensure content remains fresh and relevant.
5. Targeted Content for Gen Z & Gen Alpha : Develop content strategies and create posts specifically aimed at Gen Z and GeAlpha, ensuring alignment with their interests and communication preferences.
6. Track Performance & Provide Insights : Assist in tracking social media performance through analytics, prepare regular reports, and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement and optimization.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION : Current enrollment in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field Bachelor's degree program. College sophomore or junior level preferred.
SKILLS / ABILITIES :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with social media platforms and tools (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Hootsuite, Canva, etc.) Ability to think creatively while understanding the business impact of social media decisions. Ability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate within a team.
WORK ENVIRONMENT : Typical office environment.
