POLITICO is seeking an enterprising and energetic editor to guide coverage of the White House.
The editor will lead a team covering one of Washington's most challenging and exciting beats - the White House - just as one president finishes his term and a newly-elected president prepares to take office.
What You'll Do :
Drive a competitive, lively and high-impact coverage agenda surrounding the key decisionmakers and dynamics in the West Wing.Work closely with POLITICO's policy teams to offer our readers superior coverage of the intersection of policy and politics.Partner with editors across the newsroom, including Congress and national security, to generate story ideas and coordinate coverage.Assign and edit a mix of breaking news, quick-turn enterprise, daily newsletter and longer-term deep dives across all our digital platforms.Manage and coach reporters.
What You'll Need :
Excellent news judgment with a track record of strong storytelling and editing.Proven ability to handle a demanding job in a fast-paced newsroom.Superior organizational skills and a rigorous commitment to fair-minded, nonpartisan journalismExperience editing or reporting on the White House
