Position Overview:
Performs network serviceability checks for potential new customers; determines network construction costs. Assists with network design and documentation. Provides proposed routing and cost estimate preparation. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of network fiber documentation in accordance with Company Guidelines.

Position Responsibilities:
Using mapping software and Company network documentation, locate potential customer sites on Mediacom’s network, and determine serviceability requirements. Measure distances and plot the customer’s location on network maps.
Prepare construction cost estimates for connecting customers to Mediacom’s network, using standard pricing worksheets and templates.
Assist the sales organization by handling requests for network information, creating and providing network maps and diagrams.
Create and update network fiber documentation, showing the fiber optic cable routes constructed and individual fiber usage.
Update our web-based management tool, communicating the status of pending and in-progress projects.
Follow up with completed Commercial Fiber projects to make sure all OSP fibers have been correctly allocated and network equipment is shown as completed at Mediacom and Customer Premises sites.
Coordination of Plant Improvement requests and processing of purchase orders associated with HFC requests to improve or repair existing outside plant.
Digital document management via Sharepoint and other company databases/softwares.
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Two-year college degree or equivalent relevant experience required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
2 years outside plant construction or CATV HFC network design and drafting.
Experience with Microsoft Visio drawing software and street-level mapping programs such as Microsoft MapPoint and/or Google Earth, ArcGIS, or other GIS platforms.
General knowledge of purchase orders and receiving duties and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and communicate with contractors and field personnel.
Proficiency with a computer and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AutoCAD and Lode Data drawing and design software.
General knowledge of CATV/fiber optic construction practices.
Knowledge of data networking equipment (Cisco, etc.) and network design.
Experience using Metasolv and Sharepoint
