About the Opportunity

MediaCross is a team of creative, inquisitive, strategic thinkers who are committed to helping our clients reach their goals. We've received national awards for our work in recruitment marketing, with our client base ranging from branches of the US military to higher education institutions.

We are seeking a Freelance Production Artist to support our cross-functional team. The ideal candidate will have up to 15 hours of weekly availability to support our team as needs and/or projects arise.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to prepare final, production- and client-ready files based on supplied specifications. Includes preparing for print and digital.
• Adhere to deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks; ensure team is aware of any essential production deadlines.
• Make various formats of supplied materials production-ready and resolve any issues that arise during production, to include design edits.
• Prepare images for various applications; provide image manipulating, retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation.
• Package and prepare files for release to clients, printers, and/or media partners.
• Work with production vendors for specifications and supervision of projects, including press checks.
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both creative team and production vendor(s).
• Maintain production files, including fonts, images, logos and other artwork.
• Participate in meetings to support the creative team as needed.
• Gain confidence of the team through reliability.
• Work under tight deadlines; quickly adapt to fast-paced situations and ever-changing environments.
• Remain intentionally informed on the latest design and production trends, industry best-practices and new technologies to continuously improve technique and contribute innovative ideas.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Advertising, Communication Design, Visual Arts or related field required.
• Significant coursework in graphic design, print production, visual arts or related field required with accompanying portfolio of work.
• Minimum two years' experience in an agency or marketing setting preferred.
• Experience with digital content required.
• Experience and proven success in a deadline-driven environment or an environment where a high degree of self-motivation was necessary.
• Knowledge of typography, layout, color theory and design aesthetic.
• Knowledge of file preparation for both print production and digital deliverables
• Proven team player with the ability to take on multiple projects and work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and solutions-focused mindset
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to act with integrity and professionalism.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Proficiency in video and digital software (After Effects, Sketch, Google Web Designer, etc.) preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient working on a computer with a macOS operating system.
