Description

The Design Analyst will support the Affordability team reporting to the Director, Affordability. This role is responsible for using Medica's trend and business reports as well as industry information to identify medical expense-saving opportunities, and design effective solutions for those opportunities. The Design Analyst will identify unmet consumer and business needs and collaborate with key stakeholders and leverage insights from areas such as Payment Integrity, Network, Pharmacy, and Care / Utilization Management (CM / UM).

Key Accountabilities

  • Affordability Solution Design

Support ideation and development of affordability initiatives focused on key levers such as Payment Integrity, Network, Pharmacy, and CM / UM.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure solutions align with strategic objectives and can be implemented effectively.
  • Establish a formal design process.
  • Market Insight and Trends
  • Review and utilize health plan data to identify trends in medical and pharmaceutical expenses and design cost-saving solutions.

  • Research and review industry data and trends to remain market competitive.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the Affordability team and other stakeholders, clearly communicating the potential impact on cost and quality.
  • Project Support and Execution
  • Creating business cases, documenting background information and cost savings opportunity.

  • Drive projects from ideation through design, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Work independently to meet deadlines while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Engage with various departments, including finance, clinical, and network management, to gather insights and collaborate on solution design.

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to articulate affordability strategies and project outcomes to leadership and peers.
  • Influence and build consensus.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business, or a related field, or equivalent working history
  • 7 years of experience in health plan operations, analytics, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience analyzing healthcare cost data and designing solutions based on identified trends
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of health plan operations
  • This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work from the designated office - Twin Cities, MN - , on average, 2 times per week.

    The full salary range for this position is $87,100 - $149,300. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and / or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
