Associate Security Engineer is a cybersecurity professional responsible for monitoring and defending an organization's IT infrastructure against cyber threats. They work within a Security Operations Center (SOC) and play a crucial role in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents. The information security professional will be result oriented, show clear exhibition of superior judgement, have good troubleshooting skills, and be comfortable interacting with others.
Key Accountabilities:
- Security Operations

Incident Response: Investigate, document, and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, unauthorized access, and other cyber threats.

Security Monitoring: Use various security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS) to monitor network traffic, system logs, and alerts for suspicious activity.

Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on security incidents and provide recommendations for improving security measures.

Collaboration: Work closely with other security team members, including security engineers and managers, to develop and implement security strategies.

- Threat and Vulnerability Analysis: Continuously monitor security systems to detect and analyze potential threats and vulnerabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years of experience in the IT Security field or a related area.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of security tools such as firewalls, web proxy servers, vulnerability scanners, DLP, malware scanners, disk encryption, SIEM, etc.
- Familiarity with standard ITSM processes.
- Knowledge or familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work from the designated office –Minnetonka, MN – on average, 2 times per week.
The full salary range for this position is $61,500 - $105,400. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
