Medica’s Lead Analyst, Healthcare Analytics provides reporting and analytical support to strategic employer group partners. Our Strategic Account Analysts work collaboratively with leadership and cross-functional partners to design and develop analyses to measure clinical outcomes and client performance on key metrics through quantitative analysis of utilization and healthcare cost data.

What to expect:
The full salary range for this position is $100,200 - $171,700. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. What to expect:
- Evaluate and assess membership and claim data to identify trends and variance opportunities that will lower cost, improve member outcomes and improve overall quality of care.
- Report findings and recommend areas to focus on to internal customers including physician and HR leadership.
- Manage multiple projects at one time with different stakeholders.
- Strategic analytic thought leadership to account and physician service departments as well as externally to client partners.
- Work independently and within a team to complete objectives
- Independently investigate issues that may arise on multiple tasks or projects with limited involvement from others
- Create customized reports and dashboards to visualize key metrics, including benchmarking data against industry standards, and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Collaborate with business teams to translate data insights into actionable strategies that improve patient care and enhance financial performance.
- Stay updated on emerging data technologies and analytics tools to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Dig into varying requests on an ad hoc basis
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare analytics, mathematics, statistics, or analytic related degree
- 7 years of work experience beyond degree in healthcare analytics or data roles within the healthcare or insurance industries with a focus on employer group or client stakeholders
- 3 years’ experience using SQL, SAS or Snowflake programming experience
- Strong proficiently in data analysis tools and visualization techniques/software (e.g. QlikSense, Power BI, Tableau)
- Comfortable presenting to executive level stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS office specifically MS Excel
- Demonstrated ability to design, evaluate, and interpret complex data sets, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Experience working both independently and collaboratively in cross functional teams, engaging with individuals from diverse professional backgrounds.

- Experience working with claim/employer group data
- Python/R
- Demonstrated capability to present key findings of an analysis effectively to a non-technical audience both written and verbal
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- An internal drive to understand root cause and an inherent curiosity to dig into data
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic culture is important for success in this role
