Medica’s Manager of Community and County Engagement Program is an important and strategic role for our Medicaid business. This Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management and oversight of the Community Engagement Team and County Engagement team and their activities, as well as building community and county connections and presence in our current Medicaid service areas and future Medicaid expansion areas.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supervision, oversight and support of Engagement Team members
  • Event coordination and management: tracking details and ensuring events are 1) within budget guidelines, 2) focused on Medicaid membership growth and retention, and 3) contribute to our Medicaid business strategy
  • Accountability for planning and implementing Medicaid Member Advisory Meetings throughout the year, in each market where we have Medicaid products
  • Oversight of Medicaid resources, collateral, and promotional items to support community engagement events and partnerships
  • Develop and manage relationships with both community-based organization partners, counties and internal stakeholders such as Foundation Team, IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) Team, Sales Team, and Employee Resource Groups
  • Lead for County and Tribal Engagement activities, including regular meetings with county leaders, representing Medica on county workgroups, sharing population health data, and soliciting feedback and addressing issues from county partners

 

In addition, this Manager is responsible for the strategic approach and implementation of yearly Member Advisory Meetings for our Medicaid products in all markets.

 

This role will require occasional travel in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota for onsite meetings and events. This role requires occasional evening and weekend work hours to attend community outreach events on behalf of Medica.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5 years of related work experience, including health care experience; Public health, care coordination, government programs, and/or Medicaid product experience strongly preferred
  • experience strongly preferred
  • 3 years of experience supervising staff members
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint), as well virtual platforms (e.g. WebEx, Zoom) as well as experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software system

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be able to attend public events in outdoor venues in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods. Must be able to lift 30 pounds
  • Must have access to reliable, working vehicle (reimbursement for mileage, parking, and local travel expenses will be provided)

 

This position is a Hub role, which requires an employee to occasionally come onsite to the designated office – Twin Cities, MN – for applicable heads-up work. Frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership.

The full salary range for this position is $85,000 - $145,700. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
