What You Will Do At ODM : Office : Legal CounselBureau : Contracts & ProcurementClassification : Attorney 5(PN 20101106)Job Overview : The Ohio Department of Medicaid is seeking an attorney for our Contracts and Procurement unit. As Senior Legal Counsel in the Bureau of Contracts and Procurement, your responsibilities will include : Drafting and reviewing contracts, inter-agency agreements, grants, requests for proposals, other legal agreements and procurement documentsNegotiating contract terms with vendors and state and local entities, exercising legal judgment and a disciplined analytical approachOverseeing Contracts and Procurement staff membersWorking collaboratively with other ODM staff and exercising judgment to elevate appropriate topics to Chief Legal Counsel and others.Drafting and reviewing Controlling Board submissionsProviding legal advice and guidance regarding government procurement and contracting processes, rules and regulationsServing as a legal liaison to the Ohio Department of Administrative ServicesResearching and drafting legal opinions, memoranda and other legal documentsThe preferred candidate will possess strong legal analysis skills, be detail oriented, and be able to work collaboratively and independently.Supplemental Information : TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED TO REMAIN IN THE CLASSIFICATION AFTER EMPLOYMENT.Completion of 24 credit hours of continuing legal education from accredited programs for applicable two-year reporting period pursuant to Rule X of Rules of Government of Bar of Ohio. Current certificate of registration pursuant to Rule VII of Rules of Government of Bar of Ohio.THIS POSITION IS OVERTIME EXEMPT.
