Role and Responsibilities
To be the primary point of contact for patients and to assist with the organization and administration of the practice. To also provide assistance to physicians as needed. Your role is to ensure the steady workflow of the practice and to help maintain a pleasant and safe work environment. Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm (M, W in Lake Mary. T, Th in Orange City. F in either location) with 30 minute lunch break
- The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Open & close the office, set up treatment rooms, stock up supplies.
- Check patients in and out, schedule appointments, collect copays and provide excellent customer service.
- Check voicemail, return & answer phone calls, respond to email, and send & receive faxes throughout the day.
- Maintain and organize electronic medical documents in EHR. Scanning documents.
- Act as a liaison to insurance companies, VA & other health care providers.
- Accept referrals, and monitor patient treatment schedules & authorizations.
- Rooming patients, taking vitals, prepare patient and instrument in exam room for physician.
- Keep track of supply inventory and request supplies be reordered, as needed.
- Assist creating marketing materials and strategies for public relations as needed.
- Provide informative and educational material for patients.
- Plan in-house or off-site activities, like events and meetings.
- Assist to implement, update, and develop office policies and procedures.
- Assist billing department verifying insurance status, billing and coding, as needed.
- Assist to clean and sanitize rooms and supplies, and do laundry throughout the day, as needed.
- Assist the physicians in the exam room with patients, as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 1 years of medical reception and/or office administration experience required.
- Excellent ability to multi-task and perform well in stressful situations.
- Must be meticulous, organized, detail oriented and have good communication skills.
- Must be able to provide outstanding customer service.
- Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle medical records discreetly.
- Knowledge of accounting, data and administrative procedures and principles.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher.
- Strong computer & other office machines (e.g. fax machines, scanners, and printers) skills.
- Ability to interact professionally in various types of inter-personal interactions.
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
- High School degree or equivalent.
Preferred Skills
- Medical Assistant Certification is preferred
- BLS & CPR certification is preferred
- Experience with Practice Fusion or similar EHR system is preferred
- Strong phone and computer skills
- Knowledge of billing and coding is preferred

Hours and days may vary between two locations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
