Medical Lab Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely results while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine clinical lab tests completed in Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis and Cepheid molecular.
• Knowledge of laboratory tests and processing specimens while maintaining specimen integrity according each individual test requirement.
• Perform accurate testing, recognizing abnormal or unusual results.
• Perform instrument maintenance and ability to troubleshoot instruments.
• Display knowledge of running and understanding quality control and initiate proper corrective action when needed.
• Keep accurate records, to include release of and timely reporting of test results via laboratory information system.
• Report critical values to ordering provider via EMR system.
• Knowledge of IT/LIS software.
• Perform phlebotomy as needed.

Skills

• Minimum of associates degree.
• Completion of an accredited MLT program and ASCP certification.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and high-level accuracy.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
• Good organizational and time management skills.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
