Overview
Medical Associates of Northern New Mexico (MANNM) is seeking a full-time Medical Billing Specialist to assist with insurance claims and guaranteeing the company’s revenue.
Our office is a multi-specialty out-patient clinic with 15 providers and 55 support staff, serving our patients in Primary Care, Cardiology, Endocrinology, and Nephrology. We’re also home to a Walk-In Clinic and accredited Ultrasound lab.
The Billing Specialist position works alongside our Collections Specialist, Medical Coders, and Billing Supervisor. This position focuses on claims and payments from insurance companies and assists the Billing Supervisor with tasks as needed. This position is in-office, with options for part-time or full-time. Outsourced companies need not apply.
Responsibilities
- Verify all incoming insurance payments
- Post payments in our EMR/AR system
- Generate insurance aging reports to track unpaid claims
- Chase unpaid claims
- Resolve discrepancies in claims or payments
- Assist with claims submission
- Follow up on delayed payments from insurance
- Send appeals for claim denials
- Assist patients with questions regarding their billing statements and insurance
- Assist the Collections Specialist and Billing Supervisor as needed
Requirements
- 1 year experience in Medical Billing and insurance claims
- Comfortable with numbers and processing financial information
- Results-driven
- Knowledge of Excel and EMR systems
- High degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
