What are the responsibilities and job description for the Allscripts Trainer position at Medical Associates Plus?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Allscripts Trainer primary responsibilities will include training new and existing employees as well as conduct training for all system upgrades. The Allscripts Trainer is responsible for training documentation, assisting office managers in scheduling training for their staff and performing the training.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor clinical training schedules within the hiring and training demands of the organization
- Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops
- Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
- Test and report on trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training
- Develop strong relationships with the clinical, front desk, operations and billing departments to develop course materials, receive feedback, and jointly develop workflow policies
- Perform proactive problem solving into complex issues with Allscripts that require testing, research and collaboration with Allscripts support staff
- Assist with new practice acquisition by providing onsite support and competency assessments
- Participates in new employee orientation
- Performs all Allscripts training as part of new employee orientation.
- Prepare training schedule
- Develop and prepare workflow suggestions for EMR in all departments
- All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree preferred and at least two years of work related experience in social services or medical field or a combination of education and experience, or 3-5 years of experience in a medical field or FQHC
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Allscripts applications
- Previous experience in a training capacity
- Well versed in Allscripts workflow
- In depth understanding of health center work flows and ability to make recommendations of how to best utilize Allscripts to meet the users needs
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels and serve as a subject matter expert on the system
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
- Needs to be creative and able to communicate through multiple channels
- Must be extremely organized, be a self-starter, and have the ability to prioritize, multitask, and problem solve
- Must possess a strong work ethic and attention to detail, including follow-up and follow-through
- Needs to be flexible and able to adapt to ongoing changes
- Passionate about teaching and developing others and enjoy collaborating in a team setting
- Needs to be willing and able to learn new technology
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Work may require sitting for long periods of time, stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Allscripts Trainer position requires interaction with diverse groups of patients, customers and vendors thus working conditions require significant tact and judgment daily. May be required to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends
