Medical Associates Plus is currently seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team and serve as the welcoming face of our clinic. Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Accurately register patients, verify insurance coverage, and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Collect and process patient co-pays and balances at time of service.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments efficiently using our electronic health records system.
- Assist patients with completion of sliding fee scale applications and other documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Respond to phone calls promptly and courteously, taking messages or routing calls as appropriate.
- Process cancellations, no-shows, and follow-up communications per clinic protocol.
- Ensure the front desk and waiting areas remain clean, organized, and professional in appearance.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and Medical Associates Plus policies in handling patient information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment with attention to detail.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency with office equipment such as computers, printers, fax, and copiers.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds occasionally, and perform duties requiring manual dexterity.
- Professional dress is required to uphold the image of the organization.
- May occasionally require evening or weekend work.
