Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Risk Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and educating our physicians and healthcare providers. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to navigate complex healthcare environments. The Risk Manager will collaborate with various departments helping to enhance patient safety while minimizing liability risks.
Responsibilities
- Assessing the risk management systems, medical practices, and documentation of insured physicians and healthcare providers.
- Offering guidance and risk management advice via phone consultations and on-site clinic visits.
- Delivering educational presentations to physicians, clinic staff, and healthcare organizations.
- Collaborating with Claims and Underwriting teams on clinical matters.
- Analyzing claims and survey data to identify risk management trends and measure the effectiveness of interventions.
- Occasionally traveling in-state and overnight (travel expenses covered) to support clinics and physicians.
- Maintaining a work schedule that supports a healthy work-life balance, with rare weekend or evening requirements.
- After training, the flexibility to occasionally work from home.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and an active, unrestricted RN license.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in delivering educational programs.
- Familiarity with medical chart review.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience in a healthcare business or clinic setting is a plus.
