What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Mental Health Unit position at Medical Center Barbour?
The MHU Director is responsible for the overall functioning of the Mental Health Unit. He/She is responsible for the development and implementation of the quality treatment program, compliance to all standards of operation by regulatory agencies, management of the program facility and related equipment, the budget, the development of comprehensive community relations and education program and the supervision of the program staff and their compliance to expected competencies. The Program Director shall be responsible for the fulfillment of the mission, goals and objectives of the program.
Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited University in Social/Behavioral Science, Nursing,Healthcare Administration, Business in Healthcare or related field OR Bachelors Degree from an accredited University (with hospital provided Master’s Degree Consultant).
Experience: Three to five years of clinical experience. Previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Current Alabama License as a Certified Social Worker OR Current Alabama Registered Nurse License. Non-violent crisis required and BLS for nursing.
