POSITION PURPOSE (Summary)
The staff LPN, under supervision of the Unit Director/Charge Nurse/Staff RN, is responsible for the nursing care of patients assigned to him/her and directs/assists other inpatient care. Delivers care based on patients’ needs appropriate for the infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patient. Demonstrates an interest in patient centered approach to total nursing care. Instructs PCAs. Demonstrates cooperation, flexibility, and resourcefulness when dealing with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Experience:
- Desirable characteristic includes at least one year medical/surgical experience.
- May begin at entry level.
- Successfully completes orientation to the medical/surgical unit.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Current Alabama License.
- Current BLS certification.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible to the patient to provide the highest quality nursing care possible.
- Responsible to promote cooperative working relationships both on the assigned unit with physician, colleagues and with other hospital departments.
- Assist PCAs, other LPNs and staff RNs in delivering patient care.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
VISUAL AND HEARING REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to see with corrective eye wear
- Must be able to hear clearly with assistance.
Salary : $24 - $32
