What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dir Emergency Dept position at Medical Center Enterprise?
The Emergency Department Director reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and is responsible for directing and coordinating the Emergency Department in a manner reflective of the hospital’s philosophy and objective for maintaining required supplies and staffing, and for acting as liaison between hospital administration and the staff. The ED Director is also responsible for meeting Joint Commission standards for the department and promotes collaboration with physicians and personnel of other departments within the organization.
The ED Director shall be responsible for planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care and for correlating the nursing processes, the medical plan of care and policies. The ED Director will also act as a clinical resource person, as well as providing operations coordination and professional leadership. The ED Director will carry out processes that will directly and positively impact patient flow in the emergency department while reducing turn-around-times and patients leaving without being seen.
