Responsibilities:

The Lead Medical Technologist must promote good public relations for the department and facility while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality. The Lead Medical Technologist applies the philosophy, goals and objectives of the facility. Responsible for planning and coordinating all the functions within their section of the Laboratory including testing, training, supply inventory and equipment maintenance. The technologist will perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to the SOP, responsible for reporting accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care, and keeps leadership informed of group progress, problems, employee performance and any significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities.

Schedule: 7P - 6A, Weekly Rotation, 7 On / 7 Off

Qualifications:

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology

One of the following must be met: 1.Fulfill the education requirements for a technical consultant to perform moderately complex testing as outlined by CLIA (42 CFR 493.1411), complete an accredited Medical Technology program and be certified or certification eligible by ASCP or equivalent agency or 2. Fulfill the education requirements for a technical consultant to perform moderate complexity testing as outlined by CLIA (42 CFR 493.1411),complete a training administered by Medical Center Enterprise Hospital Laboratory, and obtain ASCP or equivalent certification.
