What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Tech position at Medical Center Hospital?
Position Summary:
To perform floor cleaning functions in assigned area. To maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition of the Center. The Floor Tech is defined as performing floor finishing over 20 hours per week.
Qualifications:
A. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Able to read, write, and comprehend English.
B. Training and Experience:
Previous experience in institutional cleaning preferred. Able to perform routine and repetitive duties. Neat and clean personal appearance at all times. Express concern for detail cleaning.
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
A. Stand, climb, stoop, walk, and lift throughout working day.
B. Requires operation of mechanical equipment such as buffers and vacuum cleaners.
C. Visual ability to detect cleanliness.
D. Perform a variety of duties including dry and wet mopping, waste removal, wall and window washing and floor care procedures.
E. May require work in special areas such as Surgery, Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Isolation Rooms, or Intensive Care Units.
