What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Non-Traditional Resident position at Medical Center Hospital?
I. Position Summary:
The pharmacy non-traditional resident has a two-year appointment. During this period, the resident alternates between resident responsibilities and staff pharmacist responsibilities. The accumulative time spent to perform resident's duty is at least 12 month as required by American Society of Hospital Pharmacist. The non-traditional resident serves to ensure proper and safe distribution and administration of patient medications, including promoting rational drug selection, monitoring administration of medication and responsibility for the patient's overall drug therapy.
I. Qualifications:
A. Education:
Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the State of Texas.
B. Training and Experience:
Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree from an American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) accredited pharmacy school.
C. Job Knowledge:
Keep current with latest developments in hospital through professional organizations such as ASHP. Know good management techniques and know hospital and department policies and procedures.
