SUMMARY: Assists Pharmacist in hospital pharmacy or retail establishment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.
Implements Advanced Care Medical Equipment's Mission Statement.
Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and types labels for bottles.
Assists Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication.
Receives and stores incoming supplies.
Counts stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records.
Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to customer or hospital patient, compute charges, and enter data in computer.
Prepares intravenous (IV) packs.
Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods.
May have to communicate or interact with customers that may be:
- Infants (0 - 1 years of age)
- Pediatrics (1 - 17 years of age)
- Adults (18 - 64 years of age)
  • Seniors (65 years or greater)
Participates in Performance Improvement (PI) activities.
Participates, on an ongoing basis, in traditional learning and DMETRAIN programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma and/or trade or business college.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATH ABILITY: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Accounting software.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: May be required to have Certified Pharmacy Technician License (CPhT).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
