This role involves performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating health conditions, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner will play a vital role in patient education and support. Excellent communication skills are a must.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess patients' health status.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, including providing treatment plans.
- Monitor vital signs and interpret diagnostic tests to inform treatment decisions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a teaching hospital environment to enhance patient care.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health management and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Experience
- A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification with relevant licensure is essential.
- Experience in internal medicine.
- Proficiency in anatomy knowledge, suturing techniques, and behavioral health practices is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to teach patients effectively about their health conditions.
