Job Summary And Qualifications
The Nurse Manager of Clinical Operations has 24/7 accountability, responsibility and oversight of the Nursing Administration department (House Supervisors, Bed Management and Facility Staffing). This leadership position represents Hospital and Nursing Administration in their absence, and supports a climate optimal for the provision of individualized goal directed nursing care to support the mission, vision and values of Medical City Plano and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. The Nurse Manager promotes, advocates for and supports the nursing staff’s primary commitment to protect the health, safety, and rights of the individual, family or community.

Job Summary And Qualifications
The Nurse Manager of Clinical Operations has 24/7 accountability, responsibility and oversight of the Nursing Administration department (House Supervisors, Bed Management and Facility Staffing). This leadership position represents Hospital and Nursing Administration in their absence, and supports a climate optimal for the provision of individualized goal directed nursing care to support the mission, vision and values of Medical City Plano and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. The Nurse Manager promotes, advocates for and supports the nursing staff’s primary commitment to protect the health, safety, and rights of the individual, family or community.
- Responsible for leadership of all personnel in their department and functions as a resource for physicians, staff, and patients. Represents Hospital and Nursing Administration in their absence.
- Responsible for staffing and scheduling of MCP’s Staffing Resource Team.
- Responsible for oversight of clinical departments under their purview
- Collaborates with the Nursing House Supervisor and nursing Leader of each patient care unit to help ensure compliance with approved staffing grid.
- Receives employee sick calls, report and log absences; adjust/float staff to provide a safe patient care environment, review schedules for scheduling excellence and commitments; and round on nursing units to ensure that staff are flexed to census changes.
- Coordinates with Healthtrust and other employment agencies in obtaining staff when necessary.
- Ensures all agency staff files are compliant and audit ready.
Education:
- BSN required.
- MSN or Master’s Degree in related field preferred.
- Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted, National Specialty Certification or plan to achieve within 1 year of hire.
- BLS/ACLS as required by individual departments (see Unit Spec Competency).
- Minimum 2 years in a nursing management position
