Job Summary and Qualifications

The essential functions of the Monitor Tech position include:

• Monitor, interpret and report data for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients from telemetry monitor systems
• Interpret and recognize rhythms with the potential to alter the patient’s physiology and report to licensed staff immediately
• Document rhythm status per routine, for all changes, and upon request during emergent patient interventions
• Report changes in pulse oximetry data to appropriate licensed personnel

What qualifications you will need:

• Reasoning, mathematical and language skills are required
• Must complete the EKG Interpretation Course (6 sections) in HealthNet, complete the Medical City McKinney Telemetry class and pass the telemetry test by a score of 90% or higher without missing any lethal arrhythmias within 90 days of hire/transfer
• Certified as a Monitor Tech by a recognized program preferred
• High School Graduate / GED
