Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the plan of care for a specific assigned group of patients. The North Hills Hospital staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence. The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse. Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted; Texas State RN license required 30 days after hire.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred.
• 2 years or more experience in ER isrequired.
• Certified in BLS, ACLS (upon hire) from AHA or ARC, PALS or ENPC (within 90 days of hire) and TNCC (within 1 year) required.
• Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
• Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians and employees.
• Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to Emergency Room nursing.
• Clinically proficient in emergency room nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
