Medical Laboratory Technician
Medical Laboratory Technician functions under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor. Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing various routine clinical laboratory tests.
Responsibilities
- Operates manual and automatic laboratory instrument/equipment
- Calibrates and performs routine maintenance on laboratory instrument/equipment
- Prepares chemicals, reagents, and solutions required for clinical laboratory testing
- Utilizes the Laboratory Information System to enter test orders, report results, look up results, verify specimen receipt time and date, and check pending tests
- Complies with all Clinic policies and procedures, including Safety and the Code of Conduct
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associates of Science or related degree required
- 1-2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory
- Knowledge of CAP & CLIA regulations and standards
- Experience in Clinical Chemistry & Special Chemistry with Roche Cobas system preferred
- MLT(ASCP) certification or equivalent preferred
