Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Billing Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. This position offers flexibility with a commitment of 25 hours per week and a competitive pay of $25 per hour. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, and the ability to work independently. This role requires the candidate to work remotely for 3 days per week and in the office for 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Billing Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of medical billing, ensuring accurate submission of claims, and timely follow-ups on unpaid claims.
- Insurance Verification: Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Claim Resolution: Investigate and resolve issues related to denied, rejected, or unpaid claims, working closely with insurance companies and healthcare providers.
- Compliance: Ensure billing processes comply with all relevant regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other healthcare policies.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports for management on billing performance, outstanding claims, and revenue cycle trends.
- Data Entry: Accurately input patient data and billing information into electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile patient accounts and review statements for accuracy, ensuring all payments and insurance information is up to date.
- Independent Work: Take ownership of individual tasks and projects, demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Manage priorities, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Client and Staff Communication: Handle client calls, addressing billing questions, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally. Resolve problems involving clients, doctors, and medical office staff as needed, ensuring a smooth flow of communication and efficient problem-solving.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and coding, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of medical billing codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), insurance regulations, and healthcare billing systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Certifications: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with insurance companies, patients, clients, doctors, and medical office staff.
- Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks with minimal oversight.
- In-Office Availability: Ability to work in the office two days per week and remotely for three days per week.
