Position Description :
The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, General OBGYN is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant that will provide specialty medical care within defined scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physician and in accordance with MCW / Froedtert Health policies and procedures. Multiple sites : FMLH Cancer Center, West Bend, Mequon.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as part of a multidisciplinary health care team, providing a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for the patients of the outpatient services as a member of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, division of Gynecologic Oncology.
The APP will have a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and ensure an environment of safe quality care.
The Ideal Candidate will be a certified and licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with women's health experience wanting to be part of a thriving and very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to providing direct patient care in an outpatient setting.
Core Advanced Practice Responsibilities :
- Performs comprehensive histories and physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive and psychosocial status.
- Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develops pharmaceutical and non- pharmaceutical treatment plans.
- Monitors effectiveness of plan of care.
- Educates patients on disease and treatment plans.
- Performs procedures as trained and appropriately credentialed.
- Documents within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and completes other necessary documents.
- Collaborates and / or consults with physicians and other health care providers as appropriate.
- Educates, counsels, and assists patients and families regarding current health problems, health maintenance activities and preventive behaviors.
