The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) invites inquiries, nominations and applications for a strategic and dynamic leader to serve as the next Campus Dean, Central Wisconsin Campus in Wausau, Wisconsin.
The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is a leading independent, private academic health sciences institution, renowned nationwide for its contributions to academics, education, training, and research. The MCW Central Wisconsin Campus is a regional campus that develops community-focused physicians who will meet the healthcare needs of Central Wisconsin and surrounding regions. Educational programming offered at this campus is an accelerated and focused 3-year curriculum to train primary care physicians (family medicine, pediatrics, and internal medicine), and psychiatrists who want to live and work in the region when they complete their medical education one year earlier than traditional programs. The program is community-focused, with students working side-by-side with community physicians at different health systems offering outstanding curricular activities for our learners.
The Campus Dean plays a pivotal role by leading and shaping the Central Wisconsin community medical campus in partnership with top regional institutions. With small class sizes, this role offers direct student engagement and mentorship. An exciting opportunity for an experienced educator and administrator, the position supports an innovative, community-focused medical education program emphasizing wellness and prevention. Located in a scenic area with urban amenities and year-round outdoor activities, this role drives MCW’s mission to address Wisconsin’s physician shortage and enhance medical education through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
- MD or MD/PhD with board certification
- Eligible for an unrestricted Wisconsin medical license
- Qualifies for an MCW faculty appointment at the Associate or Professor level
- Innovative leader with a strong record in clinical excellence, scholarship, and academic leadership
- Passion for medical education
- Significant leadership experience in an academic medical setting
- Expertise in curriculum development, accreditation, and residency training
- Preferred experience in community-based medical education and collaboration with hospitals and community organizations
