Position Description:

POSITION PURPOSE

To collaborate with student, resident, fellowship and patient program directors in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology on the educational needs of the department to foster clinical teaching, educational research and compliance with ACGME/American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology residency and fellowship educational requirements and with the MCW Office of Student Affairs for student education programs. Essential Duties

  • Consult, train and serve as resource for the clinical and research faculty and staff on the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs, curriculum and modules.
  • Provide and support faculty development specific to drawing on resources and principles from education, psychology, cognition, and organizational training and development.
  • Collaborate with residency and student clerkship coordinators on the integration and coordination of the education programs in OBGYN such as the maintenance of databases used to track schedules, assignments/rotations; ensure program compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with faculty, fellows, residents and students on grants, publications, conference presentations and other forms of scholarship submissions on principles and best practices in education.
  • Assess current educational practices in the department, design and implement competency-based curricula and evaluate educational outcomes to improve fellow and resident education and overall program engagement.
  • Work with faculty, fellows, and residents to improve teaching evaluation scores using innovative educational strategies.
  • In collaboration with Department leadership, develop strategic plans in preparation for credentialing and CME activities as they relate to education.
  • Provide reports to Department Chair as requested.

Position Requirements:

Education: PhD in education or related field

Experience: Five years of experience with demonstrated skills in design, implementation and evaluation of learning. Experience with learning theories preferred.
