Director of GI Pathology- Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW)

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at MCW is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of GI Pathology to lead our GI Pathology department, and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare services.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the GI pathology department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality pathology services
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, & protocols to maintain efficient and accurate laboratory operations
  • Collaborate with other departments & medical professionals to facilitate multidisciplinary patient care
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation and implementing new technologies & methodologies

MCW Pathology and Laboratory Department:The division of surgical pathology works under a subspecialty sign-out system, with close working relationships with clinicians & surgeons and a full complement of cutting edge clinical service lines. The residency program encompasses 16 positions, and the department has active fellowship programs in GI/liver pathology, cytopathology, hematopathology, Breast/Gyn pathology, pediatric pathology, general surgical pathology, forensic pathology, & transfusion medicine.

Position Requirements:

  • Board certification in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology
  • Minimum 8 years of experience practicing pathology, with progressively increasing responsibilities & leadership roles
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and developing a team of pathologists & laboratory personnel
