What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMA position at Medical Essential Diagnostics?

By using our program, essential workers and their families can have peace of mind by limiting the occupational risks in their essential positions.
Essential Functions (Duties/Responsibilities)
- Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
- Conducting various tests on patients as required by the clinic, including phlebotomy, EKG, ABI, PFT, ECG Stress Test, WatchPat One Sleep studies, and Eyes/Ears examinations.
- Adhere to healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
- Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records (EHR) for each patient.
- Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
- Operate x-ray, electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
- Set up medical laboratory equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body).
