Job Description: As our Optical Sales Trainer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the skill set of our optical staff to ensure that each patient receives an exceptional experience from the moment they enter our store. You will be responsible for developing and delivering training sessions that focus on how to warmly greet patients, build rapport, and present eyewear options in a way that resonates with the patient’s needs and preferences. The ultimate goal is to drive sales while fostering a welcoming, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct In-Store Training: Lead training sessions for new and existing optical staff on how to effectively greet patients, provide personalized consultations, and introduce eyewear options that match patient needs.
- Sales Techniques: Train staff on how to present products in an engaging way that encourages patient interest and helps guide them to the best choices for their vision and lifestyle.
- Customer Experience: Focus on building rapport with patients, creating a comfortable and positive experience, and ensuring that all patients feel confident in their purchase decisions.
- Product Knowledge: Ensure staff is well-versed in the features, benefits, and selling points of various eyewear products, including frames, lenses, and accessories.
- Monitor and Assess Progress: Regularly evaluate the performance of optical staff and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to improve skills and achieve sales goals.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with store managers and optical professionals to align training efforts with company goals, seasonal promotions, and any product updates.
- Stay Current: Keep up to date with the latest optical trends, sales strategies, and customer service best practices to continuously improve training materials and sessions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales, with a strong understanding of products and customer needs.
- Previous experience as a sales trainer or in a coaching role within a retail or healthcare environment is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to engage and educate diverse teams.
- Ability to assess the training needs of staff and customize programs accordingly.
