Luther Woods Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center is looking for a Full Time Registered Nurse Unit Manager to care for our Residents. The candidate will be part of the professional Nursing Administrative Team. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care. The goal is to promote the patient’s well-being by providing high-quality nursing care.
Responsibilities of Unit Manager :
- Responsible for coverage on each unit weekly to ensure continuity of care
- Assist with daily tasks of team on unit
- Monitor and utilize reports in PCC
- Document and provide needed education
- Weekly wound rounds on each unit with wound Nurse Practicioner / documentation and supplies
- Attend morning meetings / RISC management
- Monitoring cart audits
- Manage Staff Assignments for Nurses and C.N.A.'s
- Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds, etc.)
- Provide instant medical care in emergencies
- Supervise and train all nurses and nursing assistants
- Foster, a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
- Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences, etc.
- Work closely with resident, family, nursing as well as rehab department to ensure a safe discharge to the commuity
- Attends weekly discharge meeting and works closely with the Social Worker
- Responsible for setting appointments prior to discharge as well as following resident thru first 90 days to assist in acclimating to the community safely
- Utilize computerized program to track and trend all discharges, including and identifiable issues and to present at QAPI
- Position includes on call weekends
