Position Summary
The GW Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) Department of Medicine is seeking a Division Director for the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Disorders. The MFA is an independent, non-profit clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University. The Division Director will be able to lead and grow a successful division in an academic medical setting. Tremendous growth and expansion potential exist in support of the organization’s academic and clinical mission.
This non-tenure track appointment will be made at a rank (Associate or Full Professor) and salary commensurate with experience. This position is expected to begin as early as July 1, 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Disorders Director will lead divisional faculty in research, educational and clinical services, strategic planning, development, and resource management. The new Division Director, who will report to the department chair, will also aim to advance the Division through patient care, practice innovation, research, and education while playing a key leadership role. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong leadership skills, clinical, research, and academic accomplishments, with the ability to build vibrant, contemporary programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia at appointment.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine
- A proven track record of providing excellent clinical care services, leadership in research, and clinical education, as demonstrated by experience, publications, evaluations, and references.
- Strong clinical skills and expertise in diagnosing and treating dermatological conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
