The GW Medical Faculty Associates is currently looking for a Pharmacy Manager. Our pharmacy team knows how important an accurate and timely prescription is to our patients. Position Summary
To proficiently perform and document routine professional duties in the preparation and dispensing of medication. Provide customer counseling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Named the “Pharmacist In Charge” per DC Health Regulations. Demonstrate understanding and responsibility for regulatory compliance with all DC and Federal regulations.
2. Responsible for interpretation, computer entry and dispensing prescriptions.
3. Counsel and advise patients on their medications and regimens.
4. Maintain inventory and order drugs.
5. Administer vaccinations to patients per ACIP and protocol guidelines.
6. Compound specialized creams, ointments, solutions, suppositories and troches.
7. Assist in the orientation of new pharmacy staff.
8. Maintenance of stock and controlled drug records and inventories.
9. Demonstrate knowledge of basic pharmacokinetic principles.
10. Analyze prescription trends and adjust purchases accordingly to maximize inventory turnover.
11. Resolve patient problems and clarifies third party coverage issues.
12. Demonstrate basic pharmacist competencies in interacting and communicating with other health care professionals and patients.
13. Apply problem identification and resolution skill and solid therapeutic knowledge to pathophysiology, drug information, drug interactions, and other areas for defined patient population.
14. Demonstrate effectiveness in day-to-day workflow prioritization and provide functional supervision to a team of pharmacists, technicians, and interns. Work harmoniously with coworkers.
15. Demonstrate ability to handle ambiguity with professionalism while keeping patient care and compliance as priorities.
16. Perform medication therapy management. Utilize established strategies to ensure patient is compliant with medications.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
A Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree is necessary. Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist by the District of Columbia or eligibility for D.C. licensure through reciprocity or board examination is necessary. License must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Experience
Five years of licensed professional pharmacy experience is required. One year of supervisory experience is required.

Ability to input data into the computer, and analyze data as requested. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Must understand and be able to follow instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people. Must be self-motivated and results driven.
Supervision Received
Administrative supervision is received from the Executive Director of Pharmacy Services.
Supervision Exercised
Functional and administrative supervision is exercised over all professional, technical, and clerical employees of the Retail Pharmacy.
