Position Summary
This position has first-line responsibility for assisting the Department of Vascular Surgery Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory, with various aspects of electronic medical data entry. Enhances the ability of the Non- Invasive Laboratory, to efficiently process reporting documentation associated with the technologist daily work follow. This individual will work closely with the director of the Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory, and clinical staff to ensure timely report documentation into the patient’s electronic medical record.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
- Document written, typed, and/or computer medical information into the electronic medical record system.
- Transcribe spoken and or written words, symbols, and terminology related to Non- Invasive Vascular Laboratory testing.
- Identifying technical data to insure cohesive throughput.
- Assist the technologist and support staff with routine administrative duties.
- Effectively communicate with clinical and non-clinical personnel.
- Process data entry into a computer system efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent and/or a combination of education and training that will allow the individual to be successful.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology through experience and/knowledge of vascular studies.
Critical Skills/Competencies
- Good understanding of medical terminology
- Strong computer skills/communication skills
- Be able to work independently
- Great organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Walk, bend, twist, and reach above the shoulder frequently in an office setting
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs. as part of the role
- Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment
- Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment
