Position Summary
GW Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) provides Operational and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and other medical services within Washington DC. The role of RN/NRP can function independently or as a part of a larger medical team. The RN/NRP must know one's surroundings and practice scene safety, body substance isolation, and proper body mechanics to ensure safety. The position will provide Advanced Life Support within the RN/NRP scope of practice and standing orders to include medical evaluation, treatment, and stabilization to the sick and injured. Further, they will respond to emergency medical situations involving potential loss of life or bodily injury; maintain (self or scene) control, manage and direct patient care at the scene of a pre-hospital emergency; provide training and instruction to lesser trained personnel; perform required documentation and, other duties as needed. This position will also work within our operational protocols to help with other Operational Medical needs.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)
Experience
- Paramedic - Preferred at least one year as a released.
- RN - Emergency Department or ICU experience
Licensure
- Active DC RN license or Nationally Registered Paramedics
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- DC DOH approved CPR for Healthcare Providers
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support - preferred
- Pass an FBI fingerprint background check
Education
- A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Physical Requirements
- Sit, walk, and reach out for long periods of time in a clinical setting.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 20 lbs. as part of the role.
- Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment.
